If you are thinking about childcare many parents and carers will want an option that best fits their child and family circumstances. All providers of childcare have to be registered with Ofsted and are subject to inspection. More information can be found on inspection and outcomes can be found at www.gov.uk/ofsted-inspection-childcare-provider. In Ashford there are many nurseries, pre-school and childminders which offer flexible childcare.
Clarendon Children’s Centre can provide information to support you to make these decisions, please call in or telephone 01784 424759 to speak to a member of staff.
Choosing a Nursery/PreSchool
When choosing where you would like to send your child you may wish to consider how close it is to your home, sibling’s school or place of work. Your hours of work are also important as you may need the longer hours or availability during school holidays. You may have a childminder or relative who will collect your child from nursery school and this has to fit in with their commitments too.
Every provider has their own terms and conditions for payment and registration. All 3 to 4-year-olds in England are eligible to 570 hours of free early education or childcare per year. This is usually taken as 15 hours each week for 38 weeks of the year. This entitlement starts the term after your child’s 3rd birthday.
