Parent Champions are parent volunteers who give a few hours a week to talk to other local parents about the services we offer to families. Being parents themselves, they are able to share their own positive experiences of our services in a relatable, trusted and informal way. Parent Champions are often out and about in the local community, reaching parents in playgrounds, markets, libraries, community events and local play groups.
Parent Champions is open to any parents, carers or grandparents who use Clarendon Children’s Centre – and we’d love some new members – give us a call on 01784 424759 or pop into the centre and we’ll pop you on the list of interested parents.
Marie - Parent Champion
Hi I am Marie and I am a parent champion for the centre. I volunteer and make parents aware of the services of the centre and also in the area. I am a Mum myself to 2 young children and have used the centre for the last 5 years. I have personally found the centre to be so supportive and helpful and I have used a range of the services that are provided by the centre. It is a wonderful resource for parents and I'm not sure what we would have done without it! My children have really benefited from being involved with the centre.
I am also on the parents forum and the advisory board so I can have a say in what I think the centre should offer local parents. You can contact me for advice on 07827164558 between the hours of 9-2 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sarah Smith - Parent Champion
Hi I am Sarah and I am a parent champion for the centre and I also volunteer at some of the sessions as I am studying for my Level 2 in Childcare. I am a single Mum to my daughter and we use the centre for play and stay sessions and I also sometimes attend the session at St Matthews Church Hall on a Monday.
I became a parent champion to help other parents get out and find new things to do with their children. You can contact me for advice on 07827 165025 between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Monday to Friday .
